Make Up Essentials
My beauty routine is pretty simple. I like a dewy glow and subtle make up. My go to foundation is Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation– the the holy grail of make up. I have tried so many foundations over the years but this one trumps them all. It’s so lightweight but still gives great coverage and leaves your skin looking super healthy so is perfect for day or night. In fact my flatmate was so amazed by how much in transformed my hungover skin that she ran out and bought it herself. I think you get an even more perfect finish when you apply Nars Multi-Protect Primer first. The primer calms, soothes and moisturises my sensitive skin and together they are the two products I can really count on.
I use the same thing for my lips and cheeks – I wasn’t kidding when I told you the routine was simple! I find that Carmex Moisture Plus gives a really subtle shade of red that brightens both lips and cheeks in one swoop. The creamy texture makes it really easy to apply and it is the one thing I always carry with me.
At night I like to add Rimmel Natrual Bronzer does exactly the same as other great bronzers for a fraction of the price. A great way to apply bronzer is to make a 3 on each side of your face – this means you highlight the areas that would be most affected by natural sunlight, making you look lightly sunkissed instead of caked!
For eyes I always use bronze colours and Hypnôse Doll Eyes Palette is definitely one of the best out there. The palette has five gorgeous colors which allows you to create natural or smokey looks that last all night.
Finally, and most importantly, mascara. Again it is one of those things that every girl collects, you probably have 3 or 4 in your drawer right now ranging from superdrug finds to high end purchases. The one I always find myself coming back to is Lancome’s Hypnose Drama Mascara because it lengthens and thickens my lashes like no other. Plus it never crumples beneath your eyes – a cardinal sin for an mascara.
Skin Care Routine
Bioderma Sensibio is the texture of water and just as soft. This award winning cleaners takes of all make up with almost no effort. The perfect product for someone looking for something more effective than cleansing wipes but not ready for a full make up removing routine.
I buy Eurodem moisturizer from my chemist, – I have super sensitive skin and this is the only moisturizer for me. I use it all over, as a cleanser, a body wash and a daily moisturizer. An extra tip for really dry skin is to add a couple drops of rosehip oil into your daily moisturiser.
For spots – although I’m lucky enough not to get too many spots now, I really struggled with acne last year and still have faint marks on my cheeks. However I’ve seen a huge improvement after using a sample size of Repairwear Laser Focus by Clinique. When I do get the occasional spot, nothing gets rid of it faster than Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel.
So there you have it… my essential products. Let me know if you agree with my recommendations and feel free to suggest any of your own favourites too.
