Cate and Amy (who both walked away with gongs last night) looked incredible. Cate went for a striking black lace gown by Armani Privé while Amy went for a more grecian vibe in a vibrant red dress from Valentino. Both winners looked exquisite but the best dressed award, in my opinion, has to go to Emma Watson for her fashion forward gown by Christian Dior. The front of her red dress was demure with a high neck line and sash, but the true fashion impact arrived when she turned to reveal an open back and chic trousers. A bold and high fashion move on such a big night but it definitely paid off!
The true stars of the evening were, of course, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The two comedians’ hilarious dialogue had the glamorous crowd in stitches, let’s take a sneak peek at their best jokes. And don’t forget to look at the behind the scenes action of the awards courtesy of Instagram below!
“Now, like a supermodel’s vagina, let’s give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio.” (Tina Fey)
“The Wolf of Wall Street is another nominee tonight. I really loved the film, but some of it was too graphic. I mean, if I wanted to see Jonah Hill masturbate at a pool party, I’d go to one of Jonah Hill’s pool parties.” (Amy Poehler)
“Gravity is nominated for Best Film. It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age”. (Tina Fey)
“We’re going to get this done in three hours – or as Martin Scorsese calls it, act one.” (Tina Fey)
“Before earning a Golden Globe nomination for his first ever acting role in Captain Phillips, Barkad Abdi was working as a limousine driver in Minnesota. There’s such a beautiful life lesson here, everyone: Sleep with your limo driver tonight, before he gets famous.” (Amy Poehler)
“For (Matthew McConaughey’s) role in Dallas Buyers Club he lost 45 pounds. Or what actresses call, being in a movie.” (Tina Fey)
