This post was inspired by my flatmate’s new found love of Bianca Jagger, so when she asked me to do a post on Bianca’s flawless style I couldn’t resist. The former Mrs. Mick Jagger was one stylish lady – all silky jumpsuits, low cut dresses and backstage passes attached to killer platforms heels. As I was looking up pictures of Bianca I came across Jenny Packham’s latest collection that showed yesterday during New York Fashion Week. The Fall collection paid homage to the seventies socialite with the satin jumpsuits, oversized blazers, sequins and slits. This collection proves that over 30 years later we still all want to dress like we dated one of the Rolling Stones and danced on tables at Studio 54.
Just like Jagger herself, the pieces are elegant, decadent and effortless. The contrast of the flowing fabrics and the structured tailoring is certainly a departure for Packham, the designer know for ‘dressing Princess Catherine’. Personally I love the light jumpers paired with evening wear and the fabulous red silk trousers – I can imagine Rosie Huntington-Whitely stepping out in any one of these looks.
As for Bianca herself, check out the slideshow below for her best looks. If you are looking to inject some seventies style into you wardrobe Reformation and Stone Cold Fox are classic labels to look to – the Stardust Jumpsuit and Desire Gown look like they were made for Jagger. But if your bank balance is more high street than high end, Missguided have some fantastic options, with three great jumpsuits (floral, polkadot and classic black) and a standout Bianca gown you are spoilt for choice.
Last night’s Golden Globes kicked off award season with a bang. My favourite looks from last night were all backless gowns, worn by the ultra stylish Cate Blanchett, Emma Watson and Amy Adams.
Introducing Margot Robbie of The Wolf of Wall Street fame. Luscious locks and great red carpet style to boot.
At the premier for Martin Scorsese’s new movie (which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill) Margot looked incredible in a slinky white dress and smoky eye make up. Extra brownie points for working the hair cut of the season and an incredible spider earring.
I can’t wait to see what looks she has in store for the red carpet come award season. Personally I would love to see her in an on trend jumpsuit with slicked back hair and a strong red lip, but this girl could rock anything.
London’s fash pack were out and about last night attending The British Fashion Awards 2013. The annual ceremony celebrates all that the British fashion industry has to offer, from global designer brands to models, industry insiders and style icons.
This years awards payed homage to the iconic Kate Moss to acknowledging her contribution to the fashion industry during her 25-year career.
But it wasn’t just Kate who who packed a punch on the red carpet. Naturally British fashionistas such as Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe, Harry Styles were all at the star studded bash. Naturally the night was packed with glamour and show stopping designer garms but some stars worked the red carpet chic better than others.
For me, Alexa Chung had one of the best looks of the night. Simple, understated and fresh, her sweet Stella McCartney dress was complimented by stylish stilettos and of course a flash of red lipstick. Perhaps a bit safe for one of the most fashionable nights of the year?
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on the other hand took one of the biggest fashion risks of the night. Slicked back hair and strong make up was paired with a daring Antonio Berardi tux. Two piece suits are right on trend this season, and I do love the colour on her, but I hate the thigh high boot effect on the trousers. I would have liked to see her in a plain read suit with a hint of black underwear beneath the jacket and her hair up in a sleek bun. If Alexa went to simple, Rosie was too much.
Unfortunately Sienna Miller hasn’t hit the nail on the head with this look either. I get that she might be going for a more relax look, with a nod towards her boho days, but this dress just looks ill fitting and cheap. Much prefer her in the more structured and feminine looks she has been rocking post pregnancy.
Maybe we will have to blame the disappointing red carpet on Poppy Delevinge’s hen party that she threw this weekend. Instagram was filled with pictures from the wild and celebrity filled event under #popdoghen, and we all got a good glimpse of her ‘Blonde Themed’ hen do, complete with blow up penises and cheesy slogan tees .Sister Cara was in attendance dressed up at Twiggy and Sienna Miller did a flawless impression of Ab Fab’s Patsy while the hen herself dressed up as Alabama from True Romance. Catch up on the weekend antics below!
